The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: Extra Frills Edition

Some of the jokes land like bad cabaret, but The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the Australian smash about three drag queens storming the outback in a pink bus, still has exuberance to spare, plus a lovely turn from Terence Stamp as the wry Bernadette. EXTRAS A making-of doesn’t offer much, but director Stephan Elliott’s commentary compensates with loads of entertaining war stories about the cash-strapped shoot. (Materials for the outrageous Oscar-winning costumes were bought at Kmart.) B+
