'Parks and Recreation' lock attached to Paris bridge is missing

Bad news for believers in Parks and Recreation and the good of humankind: The lock Ben and Leslie attached to Paris’ Pont des Arts Neuf bridge in the show’s 100th episode has disappeared.

Ben surprises Leslie with a trip to Paris after her last day in office, and once there, they snap the lock (reading “LESLIE AND BEN” with a bright red heart) to the bridge. We all thought it would stay forever until a Tumblr post first alerted the world to the disappearance. The poster was in Paris recently and, being a Parks and Rec fan, decided to go on a mission to find the lock. But once they arrived at the sacred spot, they found the lock was gone. “Whoever you are, super hardcore Parks fan, you kinda suck,” the poster wrote. Agreed.

Series co-creator Michael Schur posted the news on Twitter, commenting it “stinks” that someone stole the lock and asking the thief to bring it back. He even said “please.”

Adam Scott, a.k.a. Ben, went the simpler route and just told it like it is.

Fans of the show are also taking to Twitter to express their frustration. Some of the tweets are violent, some of them use all-caps, some of them name-call. All in all, Parks and Rec fans are having a pretty tough couple weeks. First, Ann and Chris leave for good and now this. We literally can’t take any more heartbreak.
