'Idol': Chris Sligh as judge

‘Idol’: Chris Sligh as judge We have seen over and over again that American Idol can change lives. Every year, it’s exciting to see contestants come in and slowly transform from unknowns to celebrities. First week is always the hardest — some kids come in having never been shown, while other contestants have been over-”pimped”…this year was no different. This week, though, Randy and Paula seemed to be on mind-numbing drugs that caused logic to go out the window (seriously, Randy, Jason Castro was just okay?

'Inside Out 2' used teen focus group dubbed 'Riley's Crew'

Being a teenager is tough, but if you want to understand how tough it is nowadays, you should probably actually talk to some of them. That's exactly what the team behind Inside Out 2 did, creating an advisory group of teen girls they nicknamed Riley's Crew to help them ensure Riley's experiences in the movie felt as authentic as possible. The film reunites us with Riley's core emotions — led by Joy (Amy Poehler) — who are suddenly overrun by a group of newcomers, including Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos) when Riley turns 13 and enters puberty.

'It All Boils Down to This'

Man, I’m just happy. In a good mood. Have a little extra pep in my step. Things right now, as I write this, are okay. Don’t get me wrong, things are legit terrible out there. Isolation. Economic catastrophe. Death. We buried my wife’s mother last week, and it was as awful as you can imagine. We couldn’t visit her in her final weeks because we weren’t allowed in the hospital as she was dying.

'It sets up the finale'

In this week’s episode, Mary Jane’s stint in the anchor chair during the highly sought-after primetime slot didn’t go as hoped: Her round of questions with a conservative guest escalated into an on-air brawl and in the process, the “Talk Back” anchor’s sound bites went viral.
