'Hey, Tim Riggins who used to be a Panther!'

So much is happening already in the new fourth season of Friday Night Lights, I’m going to organize this recap by bullet points. The usual SPOILER ALERT pertains. • Coach Eric may be struggling to tame his East Dillon Lions, but through some dubiously ethic’d redistricting loophole, he secured the services of a primo West Dillon Panther player Luke Cafferty. I thought it was terrific to have Luke be a humble kid who cried when Tami told him about his unavoidable move, and then a polite go-getter once he arrived at East Dillon: A lesser TV series would have made that character a sullen, bitter, angry lunkhead.

'Home' Style

As Sweet Home Alabama’s Southern-born, Manhattan-based fashion designer Melanie Carmichael, Reese Witherspoon had to find her inner fashionista. Her style ”needed to be simple, but interesting,” says costumer Sophie Carbonell (who drenched Witherspoon in hot pink for ”Legally Blonde”). To achieve ”funky without being too outrageous,” Carbonell used Marc Jacobs duds to sub for Melanie’s own designs, and filled out the wardrobe with the basic black top and flowered Marni skirt (handpicked by Witherspoon) Melanie wears for her return to Alabama and plenty of casual denim.

'Hunger Games' director regrets splitting 'Mockingjay' in 2 films

When The Hunger Games arrived on the big screen in 2012, it was greeted by a ravenous fan base ready to be immersed in the world of Panem. But by the time the four-film series was wrapping up, there was frustration among fans that the final book of Suzanne Collins' dystopian trilogy had been split into two movies. "I totally regret it," filmmaker Francis Lawrence said of the divide-and-conquer strategy in a new PEOPLE interview.

'I am not a geocentrist'

(Wait, what?) So here’s the situation: On Monday, word broke that Kate Mulgrew — best known these days for playing Red on Orange Is the New Black — is the narrator of an upcoming documentary called The Principle. Spoiler alert: The principle is that contrary to Copernicus and, you know, centuries of documented science, the sun revolves around the Earth. This is notable for several reasons, including but not limited to these: 1.

'I have decided to take back my life'

Kesha has two words for body shamers: “F— u.” The singer blasted those who feel the need to criticize her look, writing Sunday on Instagram that enough was enough. “I have been battling depression and an eating disorder for a while now. My career is in a strange place and it feels like I’m fighting an uphill fight some days. But I have decided to take my life back,” Kesha wrote on a photo of herself, topless and flipping the bird.

'I tried to protect her'

Sarah Treem is telling her side of the story. Late on Friday, the showrunner of The Affair shared a lengthy response to the recent The Hollywood Reporter exposé on why Ruth Wilson exited the Showtime drama. The original story alleged that Wilson’s decision to quit the show was due to a hostile work environment, discord between her and Treem, and frustrations with the amount of nudity required of her. Wilson is restricted by an NDA, but sources in the article claim she took issue with how often she was required to be undressed and the nature of some of the nude scenes she was involved in.

'I'm so proud of you'

John Krasinski and Steve Carrell's reunion for their new movie IF was much less funny than you might expect. "When he came in, I thought I would have the best time ever, and I did," Krasinski told People while promoting the tale that both star in and that Krasinski wrote and directed. "But the first thing he did was make me cry, which sounds sad but it was amazing."  The Office stars worked together for seven seasons of the NBC sitcom, until Carrell's Michael Scott finally left the Dunder Mifflin workspace.

'I'm sure we'll play together again'

Singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon is working on a new solo album and preparing for a summer tour, but he took a quick break from looking ahead to reflect on the projects that led him to his solo career, one of which being Something Corporate, the pop-punk band made popular in the early-aughts. McMahon fronted the band from 1998 to 2006, and moved on to Jack’s Mannequin when the group disbanded. Thanks to emotionally driven alt hits like “If You C Jordan” and “I Woke Up in a Car,” Something Corporate amassed a devoted fanbase.
