Call the Midwife recap: Episode 8

So, who’s started counting the days until Christmas? (Psst! Seven months and eight days to go!) That’s how long we’ll have to wait to find out if things have turned a corner for our beloved Nonnatus House residents after tonight’s rather dismal season finale. The Christmas Special is currently filming across the pond, which we can only hope will bring happier days for Trixie, Patsy, and, frankly, anyone who isn’t the new Mr.

Cam Gigandet: From 'Twilight' to 'Burlesque'

It’s not easy to steal scenes when you’re acting opposite superstars like Cher and Christina Aguilera. But Cam Gigandet might just have beaten the odds with a scene in Burlesque (out Nov. 24) in which he bares almost all, his modesty preserved by a well-placed box of cookies. And under that box? ”I had a piece of string holding on to a little triangle of cloth,” says Gigandet (whose last name is pronounced Jih-GAHN-day).

Cameron Boyce's parents discuss his final film Runt

The late Cameron Boyce's final performance, in the indie drama Runt, is one that his parents can't wait for people to see because of how hard he worked on the project. But it's still a "painful" experience for Libby and Victor Boyce to watch the movie now knowing that their son, who died at 20 from a seizure caused by his epilepsy in 2019, isn't here to see all his hard work pay off.

Can ''Sweet November'' revive a morbid genre for Valentine's Day weekend?

Can ”Sweet November” revive a morbid genre for Valentine’s Day weekend? Valentine’s Day movies — everything from ”Hannibal” to the three hankie chick flick — can turn out to be truly freakish aphrodisiacs. And if amorous gloom’s more your style, there’s also the Sick Chick Flick — a movie about romance cut short by a woman’s fatal illness. Not quite necrophilia, but almost. ”Sweet November” (opening Feb. 16) is only the latest in a long line of deathbed romances that really began with ”Camille,” Alexandre Dumas (fils)’ 1852 stage play about a Parisian courtesan who’s secretly dying of tuberculosis, consoled only by the knowledge that her demise will ennoble the callow rich youth who adores her.

Can the team stop DeVoe?

With DeVoe on the precipice of enacting his Enlightenment, will the Scarlet Speedster be able to save the world on The Flash? After realizing that DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) plans to bathe Earth in so much dark matter that humanity is reduced to a simplified state, Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team are running out of options. Hence, they’ll actually turn to their former foe Amunet Black (Katee Sackhoff) for help during Tuesday’s hour.

Candice Bergen went on a blind date with Donald Trump

Yes, Candice Bergen once went on a blind date with Donald Trump, and she says it was “very short.” The Murphy Brown star acknowledged her rendezvous with the future president on an upcoming episode of Harry, explaining that it took place in her college years. “I was 18,” Bergen said. “He was a nice-looking guy, I mean, he was. And I was in college, and it’s where he was going to be going to college.

Candice Patton on Iris as a journalist

Warning: This article contains spoilers from last night’s episode of The Flash. Read at your own risk! Iris (Candice Patton) got back to her journalistic roots on The Flash! Although Iris revived her blog last season to stop the Thinker, last night’s episode of The Flash was the first time in quite a while we’d gotten a chance to see Iris do some actual reporting. While Barry (Grant Gustin) tried to train Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), Team Flash’s leader put on her reporter hat and investigated what happened to last week’s metahuman Gridlock (Chris Klein’s Cicada happened, in case you forgot).
