newsBilly Corgan has always been unapologetically competitive, which is what helped make his band the Smashing Pumpkins one of the biggest bands of the '90s. But Corgan's not satisfied to be just one of the best, he wants all the rings, all the crowns, all the titles. Only, however, by earning them fairly. In a new interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman revealed he was particularly upset over Kurt Cobain's death because he had lost his "

Let's just put one thing out there: practically every single adult that saw Inside Out this summer found themselves sobbing. In fact, the whole film was basically one long, unexpected ugly cry session, particularly during one tragic scene when (spoiler warning) happy-go-lucky Bing Bong dies on-screen by sacrificing himself in a pit of lost memories. (Seriously, just thinking about that moment still brings on all the feels.) As it turns out, Pixar creatives are capable of going to pretty dark places, since it seems that Bing Bong (voiced by Spin City actor Richard Kind)'s original exit was supposed to be—wait for it—even sadder than scene in the film's final cut.
I remember the first time I saw Nathaniel Parker as cuckolded gambler Rawdon Crawley in Andrew Davies' 1998 adaptation of Vanity Fair. The next day I road my bike to the library to borrow Far From the Madding Crowd on VHS just to watch him and Fair costar Natasha Little together again. And how excellent was he as Harold Skimpole in the recent Bleak House (also penned by Davies)? Yet I don't think I'd be going too far out on a limb by claiming that Anglophiles know Nathaniel (and maybe even like him) best as the eponymous New Scotland Yard detective of Elizabeth George's The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.

The name Natasha Romanoff still means something back home. Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow is featured at the heart of Marvel's new Russian poster for Avengers: Endgame, showcasing the former Soviet assassin in all her deadly glory. Soon, we'll get a movie that does the same. Marvel Studios plans to release a Black Widow standalone film from Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland, which is in the works and expected next year. It's not clear what part of Natasha's life it will focus on, but her past is fascinating, and so far we've only heard about it in 2012's original Avengers and seen glimpses of it in Age of Ultron.
It’s Halloween time once again for the Johnson family, but instead of prank wars and a heavy emphasis on family group costumes, we get psychological wars and a heavy emphasis on family dynamics with the introduction of the Johnson cousins, including Dre’s cousin Junebug. Dre begins his narration telling Black-ish fans what they already know: He loves Halloween. Ever since he was a little kid dressing up as the Silver Surfer (not the Tin Man) with a hairnet on his head, stealing money from his mother’s purse to get on the bus and travel to the best Halloween candy houses, Dre has obsessed over the spooky holiday.
