Maz Kanata action figure among new 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' toys

1 Star Wars is famous for making practically every background creature into an action figure, no matter how obscure -- Hammerhead, Walrus Man, Snaggletooth, just to name a few. But many major characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens have yet to appear in toy form. Finally, we're getting one of the cooler new aliens in action figure form: Maz Kanata, the 1,000-year-old mystic and barkeep played by Lupita Nyong'o.

Me, Myself & Irene

How do you top that image of a (sorry, grandma) spunky Cameron Diaz burned into our brains by There’s Something About Mary? If you’re the Farrelly brothers, you pull a Time Code and shoot an unfinished script in one take. That’s the feeling one gets from Me, Myself & Irene, a film no one would fault for being chintzy and dull-witted if it weren’t so lethargically self-satisfied. Eerily meek lawman Charlie (Jim Carrey) gets cuckolded by a black midget, develops a thuggish alter ego named Hank (imagine Ace Ventura impersonating Clint Eastwood — poorly), and dukes it out with himself for the love of Irene (a too-prim Renee Zellweger) — all against the backdrop of a sinister EPA plot.

Meg Ryan recalls visiting the town of Dildo with Carrie Fisher

Meg Ryan went to Dildo with Carrie Fisher and all she got was a t-shirt. The actress, who directs and stars in the upcoming rom-com What Happens Later, explained on Wednesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that she once served as Fisher's official photographer while the Star Wars legend and her family visited the Newfoundland fishing town for a 2005 story for the New York Times. "Carrie wanted to do a piece on the Napoleon surrendering to the British historical reenactment in Dildo, so we did that,"

Melissa McCarthy's The Happytime Murders is missing something: EW review

There’s a curious thing that happens when a comedy that should work doesn’t. The premise can be clever and edgy, the jokes may all arrive on time, the punchlines placed where they ought to be. But something’s missing. The involuntary laughs never come. The Happytime Murders is a perfect example. As high-concept pitches go, this one’s a honey: A hard-boiled detective noir set in a skeezy underworld where humans and puppets uneasily coexist, it’s like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but with puppets instead of ’toons.
