Nick Viall talks Rachel Lindsay

Judging by the latest episode's generous serving of drama, season 21 of The Bachelor is far from over, but star Nick Viall already has his hopes up for the impending Bachelorette spinoff.
On Tuesday's edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Viall discussed ABC's historic decision to make Rachel Lindsay — one of the four remaining finalists vying for his affections on The Bachelor‘s current cycle — the first black woman to front The Bachelorette for its upcoming 13th season.
"Rachel and I had an amazing amount of chemistry from the very first night. She got the first impression rose," Viall told host Ellen DeGeneres. "I'm very excited for her. I think she's going to be an amazing Bachelorette."
The talk show host then probed Viall on his decision to keep 24-year-old Corinne Olympios in the competition. She speculated that because Lindsay secured the Bachelorette gig, Olympios has a clear path to winning Viall's heart.
"I think the important thing to remember is that, while it's real life for us and we feel real feelings, it's also a TV show, and they're just limited on time and what they can show… They pick the interesting parts," Viall, 36, said. "Surprisingly enough, Corinne and I had some great conversations, so there are a lot of reasons why she has moved along. She's taken the time to focus on our relationship, which is hard to do for some of the women, and she always went out of her way."
