'Community' adds Paget Brewster, Keith David for season 6

A familiar face and a familiar voice are joining Community.

Paget Brewster and Keith David have signed on to the community college comedy, EW has confirmed. The two are expected to appear in all of season 6, which will debut on Yahoo! Screen early next year.

Brewster—whose TV credits include Criminal Minds and Friends, and who popped up on Key & Peele last week—has appeared on Community before, guest-starring as a member of the IT staff in last season’s episode “Analysis of Cork-Based Networking.” Instead of reprising her role, though, she will play a consultant named Francesca “Frankie” Dart who is tapped to hired to help turn around Greendale.

Meanwhile, David, who provided the narration for the documentary in season three’s “Pillows and Blankets,” assumes the role of Elroy Patashnik, a retired scientist who enrolls at Greendale. David starred last season in Enlisted and has appeared on the big screen in such films as There’s Something About Mary, Crash, and Platoon.

These two hires beef up the cast, which recently saw the departure of two original members: Yvette Nicole Brown, who exited earlier this fall, and Donald Glover, who left part of the way through season 5.

TV Guide first reported the news.
